A taste of Israel:
Our time during these two weeks of seminar was so precious.
Each member of our seminar was so different and such a blessing to our staff and students. We enjoyed the time traveling and teaching about Israel as well as getting to know these people God sent to us for refreshment! Our team truly has a special bond of love, but fresh faces and personalities are still a precious gift from God!
On the coast we stopped at Casesarea where the gospel was first sent to the Gentiles! Scott and his dad enjoyed an ice cream break before the explanations began.
Not only do we learn about each site, we are able to experience the site first hand!
Our travels took us through the Jezreel Valley to the northern mountains of Upper Galilee.
Hatzor,
Caesarea Philippi,
and Korazim
We took a little detour to visit an old Roman bridge in the north.
After leaving the north, our seminar traveled from Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea to Beersheba and then up to the beautiful city of Jerusalem!
We had two traveling groups in Jerusalem, a student group and a seminar group.
At the Israel Museum, we let our students wander by themselves. The girls found a big apple and the results were not so great...
So we made sure they were supervised the rest of our time in Jerusalem! And we informed them that there was to be "no eating apples found in museums".
The seminar had a fun time and were less likely to get into trouble, which made the job a bit more fun for the staff traveling with them!
Here Jeff tells the story of David and Goliath in the Elah Valley, where the battle took place!
Heather tried to melt into a mural on the wall from the first century as the group toured on first century roads just south of the Temple Mount. Exploring and "checking out" all angles of each site is something our students are experts at!
Here they are hanging out at Absalom's pillar in the Kidron Valley.
And, like usual, every good thing must come to an end. The seminar was taken to the airport, and our students loaded into the van and headed home to the Galilee. Praise the Lord we are only saying "see ya later", "Lehitra'ot", to Jerusalem until we come again next week! (Our students will be driving to Jerusalem for the Easter sunrise service at the Garden Tomb.)
